December 21 is Winter Solstice this year. It is the shortest day and longest night. Marking this changing of the season can happen in many ways. Maybe you celebrate Christmas or Yule, decorating around the home and your spaces, journaling and doing readings, performing a formal group ritual capturing the symbolism of the season, doing a simple and quiet solo ceremony, or enjoying the holiday with family and friends. It can be a time for contemplation on the previous seasons and planning for the upcoming ones. Setting aside time for healing, self-care, and reflection can be also feel right for this time of year.

I try to think about what I want to release and manifest as we approach the changing of the calendar year, sometimes with a simple burn and release. I also do card readings. Finding time for healings and self-care becomes part of my “ritual” for the season. Finding what brings a sense a nurturing, healing, restoration, balance can guide you.
